Alder to the Rescue

So one of the herbs I've been experimenting with lately, based on Kiva Rose's successes, is the beloved Alder (Alnus spp, usually A. rubra or A. serrulata). I've given it a go on a long standing jaw infection, and I'm waiting to hear results of that still.
Most recently I got a message from a friend in the middle of the night with a possible spider bite which was infected and possibly necrotizing. Uh oh. What to do. My friend recounts with eloquent words the whole event, and I'm happy to report that Alder is in fact a wonderful and helpful ally for possibly very bad spider bite situations!

Yay for Alder!

Glad the Alder was a good ally in this situation... I've used it on minor spider bites so far but nothing necrotizing. I have used it on bee bites with mild to moderate allergic reaction along with Peach tincture with VERY good results.

Lovely plant, that Alder.

yah, it was kind of moment of sleepy inspriation to come up with alder, as I had already told her to use plantain, but then realized that alder might also be very helpful topically and internally... yay!
