Gluten Free Chia Goodness

News Flash: I just tried a new awsome gluten free product this week. It's called Chia Goodness, by Ruth's Hemp Foods.

YUMMY!

It's made with chia seeds, both high in EFA's and Calcium, and FIBER, plus hemp seeds, buckwheat groats, spices, fruits and celtic sea salt. All you do is add hot water, milk, or juice, stir, and let sit for 5 min. Those amazing little chia seeds swell and get all nice and slimy demulcent, and its like gluten free oatmeal again! So great! no cooking required!
the ultimate fiber bowl. You could easily add your own goodies to the mix too, I tossed in extra ginger and cardamom to help with digestion.

I also got to meet Ruth, the developer/owner, who was a total sweetheart. Good juju.

That said, I bet you could create your own variety of this at home, get yourself a lb of chia seeds, mix in hemp seeds, sliced almonds, sea salt, dried fruits like cranberries or blueberries, buckwheat groats, and spices like ginger or cinnamon, and a dash of raw sugar if you like it sweet.
Add water!
YUM!

That sounds really good! Coincidentally, I just picked up chia seeds at Vitamin Cottage today.
